Human resources evolves quickly, and organizations need professionals who can keep up. Extended Studies’ HR Management program is built for today’s workplace, combining foundational theory with the real-world skills employers expect. Each course tackles the most urgent challenges facing modern HR teams, from talent development to compliance to organizational culture.

This hands-on, practical training helps experienced HR professionals stay ahead in a rapidly changing field. For those new to HR or preparing to enter the profession, our programs provide the knowledge, confidence and career-ready skills needed to stand out in a competitive job market.


To earn a certificate in Human Resources Management, a student must complete five core courses and five electives, but how you complete those electives is up to you. Starting in July 2026, you can apply three-hour elective courses toward your certificate. Complete two three-hour electives to fulfill any six-hour elective requirement. With almost 20 elective options, you can shape a learning path that fits your interests and schedule.

Certificates of completion are awarded at the conclusion of each course. Upon completion of the required courses, a Certificate in Human Resources Management will be awarded. Completed professional development classes may be applied to only one certificate program.

Courses are submitted and approved for HR general or business/strategic recertification credit hours toward PHR or SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and PDCs through SHRM. For more information, visit HRCI at www.hrci.org or SHRM at www.shrm.org.
