Celebrate the spirit of American creativity with this writing class designed to spark inspiration through the people, places and events that have shaped the nation in the last 250 years. This non-partisan workshop invites students to explore the diverse cultural and historical tapestry of the United States while developing their own expressive voices. We will look at famous Americans, iconic artworks, influential music, film, national monuments and key historical moments. Students will read American texts — ranging from speeches and poems to stories and personal narratives — that will serve as creative springboards for their own writing.
